Evasion Ability and AGI
" Evasion Ability " is a crucial element in combat.
Evasion Ability value is displayed in the status screen, but it is not Evasion Ability . It is closer to Defense value, representing how well you can defend against the enemy's Accuracy .
Even if the displayed Evasion Ability is the same, the corrections from Job and Equipment can make it easier to dodge attacks from the same enemy at the same level. Physical attacks seem to be easier to dodge than Magic attacks, and archer attacks seem easier to dodge than Melee attacks. From this difference, I thought that AGI might be related to Evasion Ability .
When comparing characters with STR , Endurance , and displayed Evasion Ability , and adding Equipment (which increases AGI ), characters with higher AGI stats were found to be better at dodging attacks.
Well...it's AGI , so it's not surprising that it's influencing Evasion Ability . The difference in AGI might be one of the reasons why people feel " Dwarf is weak!" or " Dwarf dies too easily!"
The never-ending battle against Lv8 Lion
Please look at the diagram below. Display Evasion Ability is fixed at 6, 7, and 8, and Evasion Ability is overlaid when AGI is changed to a value between 0 and 50.
Around the point where AGI is 6, 12, 18, etc., in increments of 6, we can see a tendency for the change in Evasion Ability to become larger. Also, curves shifted by 6 from AGI , such as Evasion Ability 8 and AGI 6, and Evasion Ability 7 and AGI 12, are located close together. At this Party Requirements ,AGI 6 roughly corresponds to display Evasion Ability 1.This is likely the case.
Is AGI meaningless until we reach a multiple of 6?
If Effect simply increased by one step every 6 AGI , then raising AGI from 25 to 26 should result in virtually no change until the next interval of 30. However, Evasion Ability in the diagram is not a perfect step, and there are slight changes in between.
One hypothesis for Description in this curve is that there is some kind of fluctuation in the conversion from AGI to Evasion Ability . However, it is not possible to determine from this figure alone whether AGI itself is fluctuating during combat, or whether Evasion Ability changes smoothly due to some other mechanism.
Conclusion and points to note
In this Party Requirements ,AGI 6 roughly corresponds to display Evasion Ability 1.This is a practical guideline. Use it when you're thinking, "I might be able to beat this enemy with these Evasion Ability and AGI !"
This is not a claim that random numbers are being added within the game, nor does it suggest a specific calculation formula. If the opponent's Accuracy , attack type, Terrain , shield, status, etc. change, Evasion Ability will also change.
